Co-creating your life: luck, taking chances or hard work?

Living the surfing travel writer’s life at Richie’s Café, Aourir, Morocco

Tu as la chance’, he said about my life in Tamraght.

Yes, I am very lucky’, I replied.

I’d arrived at the surf spot to find beautiful, clean waves on an empty beach close to home.

That sense of joy, freedom, and connection rose to form a big smile. After a day of bank visits and zooming in on UK-Morocco life admin, it was a good feeling.

He was part of a surf school group on holiday, bundling into a minivan next to a tower of sand-covered soft boards.

I thought, ‘Is it luck?’

Good things always happen, and I am constantly amazed by life’s miracles.

But when I reflect on the journey to today, to living this fulfilling life in Morocco, I see that I have been offered many privileges but also faced great hardship.

It is important to acknowledge and be grateful for both.

Through loss, I have learned that love is ultimately the only thing that matters. When faced with the death of a loved one, the last words I chose were, ‘ I love you.’

So that prompted me to make the whole life journey about love.

I realize that, yes, there has been luck. But with every opportunity that came to life, courage, faith, focus, and strength stepped in and boldly took action. It’s important to recognise the hard work involved in achieving goals.

I have been writing this blog in my head for days, and several other people have said to me, 'You’re lucky.’

It’s an energy I am attracting (-;

As usual, writing this blog (from the same spot where I was surfing) has given me clarity and served as a reminder that, yes, luck is out there, but it’s up to me to take that chance and bring an opportunity to life.

To make it happen.

I’d love to hear what you think. Is there anything you want to take a chance on? What small step can you take today to make it happen?

I’m booking a flight to Casablanca, time to travel and connect!

Thank you for reading.
